I am a Colorado native who feels blessed to live in one of the best places in the country to expand a family.
From homes to hospitals, midwives to perinatologists, I strive to provide the best support to all types of families & all types of birth situations.
I grew up in Golden, Colorado. The smell of hops in the morning is the smell of home. I attended Colorado State University and received my BA in accounting. I wear many hats: wife, mom to two, doula & CPA. It keeps me busy and on my toes mentally and physically.
As the oldest cousin in my family I was included in many of the conversations about pregnancy & was exposed to the women in my family breastfeeding my cousins. Birth & breastfeeding were treated as natural & normal things that women do. It wasn't until I was pregnant with my first child that I understood the fear and trials that could come with these natural & normal processes. I am naturally an information gatherer so I read many books and birth stories. I found my love for pregnancy & birth in this process and have since used it to help many friends in their pregnancies & births. The natural progression of providing this help was a desire to be present at births, to be a birth doula.
My background as a CPA has shown me the importance of certifications, scopes of practice & ethics codes. I have done my training with CAPPA as I believe their certification program to be the most rigorous in providing the evidence based knowledge and tools to walk with you on your journey of labor & birth.
